Blue Highway's eleven-time Dobro Player of the Year, Rob Ickes has won a coveted United States Artist Fellowship award.   Ickes is the first Bluegrass artist to be named a fellow by the organization in it's five year history.

Bluegrass at the Grammys.   Both The SteelDrivers and Daily and Vincent have been nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group.  The SteelDrivers also picked up a nod for Best Bluegrass Album as well.  The Grammys will be broadcast live February 13th on CBS Television .

Rebel Records has just released two more Bluegrass Classics in their re-issue campaign.  Curly Ray Cline’s Chicken Reel and Dave Evans’ Bluegrass Memories for digital download on Tuesday, December 21st.    The albums will be available for purchase through major retailers including iTunes music store and Amazon MP3.

Nothin' Fancy's Chris Sexton is opening his own private strings instruction studio in January, 2011.   The nationally acclaimed bluegrass and classical violinist Sexton will be teaching violin, viola and cello as well as bluegrass fiddle.  More information is available at Sexton Music Studio dot com.
