New Resource for Independent Bluegrass Musicians - DIY Bluegrass Biz!

Bob Faris has managed touring groups
of diverse genres and served as
 musical director for both Ozark
music theatres and theme parks.
 Bob toured as backup musician
with country mega-artist
 Reba McEntire appearing with
her on TV's Hee Haw and the
legendary stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

DIY Bluegrass Biz is a new web site designed to empower independent bluegrass musicians.

The site was conceived by Bob Faris, a career music professional with real world experience in the music business including extended tours with major Nashville touring acts, experience as a band manager, instructor, clinician and writer.  "While there are many websites that offer tips and tactics to promote independent music there hasn't been a site that specializes in do-it-yourself (DIY) strategies for the indie bluegrass artist or band - until now", Faris writes on his new website.

A major portion of that career included many years mentoring the Faris Family Bluegrass Band. Now disbanded, its family members are dispersed among influential groups such as Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder and Special Consensus.

The goal of DIY Bluegrass is to be a central repository that specializes in 'do-it-yourself' (DIY) strategies for the indie bluegrass & acoustic musicians or band.

The site is filled with articles, tutorials and information relevant to the bluegrass and independent musician looking to move beyond amateur status and into the real world of making a living as a music professional.

DIYbluegrassbiz.com has been conceived as the online artist development resource for independent bluegrass & acoustic musicians or bands. Here you’ll find information appropriate to all levels of the music industry.
