Sugar Hill Records Sells Music Catalogue!

US independent publisher Bug Music has acquired the rights to Sugar Hill Records’ publishing catalogue.
In a deal that covers 600 songs, from the worlds of Bluegrass,  Americana and Country Music, Sugar Hill Records has sold their music catalogue to Bug Music, an independent United States company.

The sale includes rosters at Sugar Hill Records’ two publishing companies, Southern Melody Publishing Co. and Queen's Counsel Music, the companies that published music by; Nickel Creek members Chris Thile, Sarah and Sean Watkins, Robin and Linda Williams, Ralph Stanley and Etta Baker.



Bug Music has been publishing music since 1975

“Sugar Hill’s Southern Melody Publishing Co. and Queen’s Counsel Music developed a rich catalogue of American roots music,” said Bug Music SVP Garry Velletri.

“Sugar Hill has done an amazing job in working with their writers and we’re proud to represent and find new opportunities across multiple platforms for their music.”
