Urban Monroes Release New CD!

Pavement and Pathways the newest recording from the Urban Monores follows the trail of tradition as it merges with the contemporary. This is the same roadmap the Urban Monroes have always used as they intricately wind through the music-scape. This CD is a reflection of the band in that way, presenting the way they hear, feel and play bluegrass.

Three singles were released from Pavement and Pathways, the most recent was "You Don't Have to Move that Mountain" on Acoustic Rainbow Bluegrass Radio Sampler.

  Fashioned from the heart of tradition and infused with adrenaline, the Urban Monroes’ bluegrass style combines the skills of some of the Pacific Northwest's finest talent. Fast-paced and highly energetic, the band performs both original and traditional bluegrass with a style and delivery uniquely its own.
  
  As individuals the Urban Monroes have earned bluegrass instrument championships, a National Endowment for the Arts award and songwriting accolades. They have been featured on the Emmy award winning PBS series Art Beat and their musical experiences have taken them around the world. As a band they have excited audiences from some of bluegrass’ biggest venues with a fully charged stage presence and an intricate delivery.
