Town Mountain Heads West!

Since the May 10th release date of Steady Operator Town Mountain has been busy, and it's about to get even more hectic for the quintet from Asheville, NC. The band is heading west for a string of 19 concert dates this July beginning with The Station Inn tonight before moving on to Coloroado, Oregon, Montana etc. They'll be back in the Southeast in August.

Their full tour schedule can be found here (under "Calendar"). If they'll be in your neck of the woods anytime soon you owe it to yourself to go out and see their live show. If you can't make it, check out Steady Operator, now available from Pinecastle Records.

Here are some things folks have been saying about Town Mountain lately:

"Town Mountain almost rocked the building strait off  the mountain side when they played at the Gold Hill Inn last night.  Before the show started I spoke to some people at the bar who said they had traveled all the way from Oklahoma that day to catch Town Mountain. This is the quintet's first national tour, and it seems to be long overdue. The men of Town Mountain projected professionalism and charm when they walked on stage shortly after nine in suits and hats. [more...]" - Abrina Williams, The Grateful Web

"Town Mountain is on the make. Coming out of the same NC scene that produced the Steep Canyon Rangers and Chatham County Line, this Asheville quintet is one of those bands that should make tradition-minded fans comfortable that the burning historic core of the music is alive and well." - Music City Roots

"And then there's Town Mountain, a rising star in the bluegrass universe. Durango audiences were introduced to them at the Abbey Theatre shortly after they won the RockyGrass band competition in 2005. They later stole the show at the 2010 Meltdown, cementing their local legacy." - Chris Aaland, The Durango Telegraph

"Described as 'bluegrass for people that don't like bluegrass,' Town Mountain is undoubtedly bluegrass for people who do like bluegrass, too." - Laura L. Smous, Indie Music Blog
