The International Bluegrass Music Association Award nominees for 2011 were announced last evening in Nashville. The current IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Russell Moore, and IIIrd Tyme Out performed two opening numbers, then a few remarks from Dan Hayes, IBMA Executive Director about the Awards Night in September and the bigger event surrounding the Awards Presentation, the IBMA World of Bluegrass Business Conference and Fan Fest. Then four-time Mandolin Player of the Year, Sam Bush who will Emcee the Awards presentation on September 29th spoke about how special it is for him to have the honor in this the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bill Monroe. The announcers for the evening last night were Sierra Hull, Russell Moore, Josh Williams and Doyle Lawson.
