The Blu-Disc showcases Nu-Blu's musical maturity while building on the lessons they learned while recording their previous album, Nights. "Other Woman's Blues" is a response to Dolly Parton's "Joleen," from Joleen's point of view.

Other notable tracks include "Every Shade of Blue," a grassy, driving tune with lead vocals by Daniel Routh and "Roses and Rust," a moving ballad sung by Carolyn Routh. Adding to the bands diversity, Levi Austin contributes his lead vocals to the mix on a couple of tracks as well.
"...Well, this group is good - and a lot more. Made up of husband and wife Carolyn and Daniel Routh, banjo player Levi Austin, and mandolin player Kendall Gates, this is Bluegrass Music, make no mistake about it.

Though, at times you might hear some other styles floating around, don't get too alarmed. Nu-Blu is something that purists and newer Bluegrass fans can both agree on... I see no reason why this disc can't figure for several IBMA Awards in 2012. Mighty fine, mighty fine!" - Chuck Dauphin, Music News Nashville.

"Great songs, carefully chosen, beautiful harmonies, and subtle instrumental backing. Nu Blu's new CD is chock-full of wonderful musical surprises..." -Nial Toner, Radio Presenter/Roots Freeway/RTE Radio One - Ireland

Nu-Blu is husband and wife team Daniel (guitar) and Carolyn Routh (bass), backed by the hard-hitting duo of Austin Koerner (mandolin) and Levi Austin (banjo). Nu-Blu creates a distinctive brand of bluegrass that draws from its member's collective experience in several different genres. The bluegrass drive is definitely a priority here throughout all the diverse material they perform ranging from older bluegrass standards to selections ported from other genres such as Patti Griffith's "Spin on a Red Brick Floor."

Although Nu-Blu has been around since 2003, they remained a relatively local phenomenon until they self-released the album Nights in May, 2010.  The album reached as high as #7 on the Roots Music Report bluegrass chart as well as spending six weeks on the Americana Music Associations Top 40 chart.  The success of the album was impressive especially for a self-released album promoted only by band members Daniel and Carolyn Routh and a small team of promoters and speaks to the quality of the music.
