IBMA Songwriter Series Set to Kick-Off!

Claire Lynch and IBMA Awards Nominees Kick Off Bluegrass Songwriter Series September 25 and 28

IBMA and the world famous Bluebird Café in Nashville, Tennessee announce a new joint venture for bluegrass songwriters, featuring bands who perform largely original material and bluegrass songwriters in the round.

Spearheaded by the IBMA Bluegrass Songwriter Committee, the "Bluebird in the Bluegrass" quarterly series at the Bluebird Cafe will open with singer-songwriter extraordinaire and reigning Female Vocalist of the Year Claire Lynch and the Claire Lynch Band on Sunday Sept 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 28 from 6-8 p.m. we are proud to present a slate of stellar bluegrass songwriters in the round, including composers of songs nominated for this year's International Bluegrass Music Awards:

• Louisa Branscomb, Song of the Year & Recorded Event of the Year nominee, “I’ll Take Love” co-writer (recorded by co-writer Dale Ann Bradley, Steve Gulley & Alison Krauss)
• Dennis Duff, Gospel Recorded Performance Event of the Year nominee, “God’s Front Porch” writer (recorded by Lou Reid & Carolina)
• Chris Henry, Song of the Year nominee, “Walkin’ West to Memphis” writer (recorded by The Gibson Brothers
• Rick Lang, Gospel Recorded Performance Event of the Year nominee, “Sailing On” writer (recorded by Russell Moore & Dale Ann Bradley)
• Jamie Johnson & Susanne Mumpower Johnson, Song of the Year & Recorded Event of the Year nominee, “I Am Strong” co-writers (recorded by The Grascals & Dolly Parton)
• Nicole Witt, Song of the Year nominee, “Trains I Missed” co-writer (recorded by Balsam Range).
