The Louisville Bluegrass Association is sponsoring their 2nd Annual Benefit called Holiday Pick-Inn bringing together some top name bluegrass pickers, fans, and local charities in need.
Three Louisville Area charities will benefit again this year'; The Salvation Army; The Louisville Center for Women and Families, a shelter that aids women and children caught up in domestic abuse; and the Home of the Innocents, a center for abused and/or seriously disabled or ill children.
According to the association’s spokesperson, Sonya Cotton, the event last year raised approximately $1500 and collected two truckloads of toys that were divided equally among the charities.
One of the ways the group raises the dollar amount collected is through raffles. This year the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro has donated some 3-day weekend passes to their annual ROMP Festival.
