Percussionist On Tour with Ricky Skaggs Dead from Heart Attack!

Image634581584836280000Tom Roady, world renowned percussionist, died in his sleep last night (Nov. 27) while on tour with Ricky Skaggs. Roady (diagnosed last month with a rare terminal cancer) reportedly died of a heart attack. Funeral service will be held at Highland Park Church, 5710 Knob Road, in Nashville on at 3 P.M. Sunday December 4, 2011.

Tom had been a studio percussionist primarily for the last 36 years and for the last 27 years resided in Nashville.  His home studio, Big Bang Theory Studio did quite a bit of recording

Tom toured with many artists like James Taylor, John Denver, Ricky Skaggs,  The Fifth Dimension and Paul Anka.  He played on numerous R&B, Folk, Bluegrass, Jazz, Rock, and Country multi-platinum recordings, many of which have been nominated and won Grammy Awards,CMA Awards,and ACM Awards.
