Benefit To Help Bluegrass Fiddler David Wiseman!

Image634816588877742000Picking up David Wiseman is a fundraiser to help a long-time musician as he battles Wegener's Granulomatosis.

David Wiseman is a long-time bluegrass musician from the mountains of western North Carolina. He's a superb tenor and lead singer and a wonderful mandolinist and fiddler. Growing up in Ingalls, NC, just outside Spruce Pine, he is directly related to the late Lulu Belle & Scotty Wiseman. Read More about David Wiseman Here.

David has played music in many different bands in the western region of North Carolina for about 40 years. Many of these efforts have been to help OTHERS in many different benefit situations. Now, it's time to help David!

David has been diagnosed as having a fairly rare disease called Wegener's Granulomatosis, which is potentially fatal. IT CAN BE TREATED and David is getting ready to start a form of chemotherapy to help him. More info can be read here:

There are several musical benefit shows being organized at this time, to help David. Being the sole money earner in his home, he has always supplemented his regular income through playing music. At this point HE ISN'T ABLE TO WORK HIS REGULAR JOB, nor is he even able to participate very much, if at all, in music. It's doubly hard, since he loves to play and sing and now isn't hardly able to even play for his own enjoyment, much less help bring in any extra income from music. We're especially appealing to musicians and music fans who would like to help David. Many of you may not be able to attend any of the musical benefit shows, so we hope you'll take time to donate a bit of money to help David along.

This will be used to supplement his insurance and to keep day-to-day bills taken care of. He's already been out of work for about 2 months and the current treatment may take 6 months to a year to complete. Already he has expressed the humbling feeling of folks helping him, but the outpouring of help is evidence of how highly he is regarded by the musical community. Even if you don't know him personally, please consider helping and sharing this fundraiser via your Facebook pages and among your friends/family/acquaintances.

There's a host of musical friends who will be supporting this effort, too many to count actually.
