The longest running active bluegrass festival in the state of Illinois has decided to pull the plug.
According to spokesperson and promoter Cathy Wonderlich, the Barnes Family Bluegrass Festival which has been presenting top name bluegrass and acoustic music acts in Illinois since 1972 will end after 40 years.
She said it was after many tears and heartaches, the family came to the decision that 40 was the time to stop.
Her father, Jim Barnes who founded the festival in 1972 passed away in 2006
