Internet DJ and bass player for Newtown, Terry Poirier sent us a note about a benefit he’s presenting to help out WORLDWIDE BLUEGRASS .com.
The Internet radio station broadcasts bluegrass to the world 24 hours a day thanks to numerous volunteer disc jockey’s like Terry and the donations of listeners and fans.
The event will be held in Lexington, KY on Saturday, October 27th at Willies Locally Known, a relatively new bluegrass music venue serving BBQ and wings that are already being hailed as legendary.
On the bill for the entertainment, are the band Nightflyer and guitarist Jim Hurst. While either one of those two acts would be more than worth the ten dollar admission, you’ll also be treated to Custom Made Bluegrass, McCoy Grass, Driving Rain, Blakeley Burger, Howard’s Creek, Mountain Connection, Ma Crow and the Lady Slippers and Velvet Blue.
It’ll be a full day of bluegrass and old-time music with all proceeds including the fundraising from some 50/50 drawings and a silent action going to help the expenses of running a 24/7 Internet Radio Station like Worldwidebluegrass.com
