On December 29th, 2012, the North Carolina Bluegrass Association and the North Carolina Welcome Center at I-77 North will promote bluegrass music, musicians, venues, and festivals to visitors entering into the state of North Carolina.
The North Carolina Bluegrass Association will dedicate the first display at the Southbound I-77 North Carolina Welcome Center at I-77 mile marker 105, Dobson, NC, just inside North Carolina from Virginia.
Coffee and donuts will be available prior to the dedication. Immediately following the dedication NCBA will provide live music by BackPorch Bluegrass and Carolina Rose (daughter of the great Bill Monroe).
The North Carolina Bluegrass Association is dedicated to the preservation, education and promotion of bluegrass music throughout the State of North Carolina.

The president and co-founder of the North Carolina Bluegrass Association is Ron Ackerman, a fiddle player who works as an Information Technology contractor for the U.S. Air Force in Goldsboro, NC. Vice-President and co-founder of the North Carolina Bluegrass Association is Annette Grady, who lives in Princeton and works as a DJ at WNCT AM-1070 in Greenville, NC. It was the vision and love of bluegrass music that inspired Ron and Annette to create the North Carolina Bluegrass Association.
