B.O.R.N. Awards Enters Final Rounds!
It’s down to the finals and there are eight of the most promising newcomers in bluegrass. It’s the NationalBluegrass.com B.O.R.N. Awards Finals. These are the monthly winners from 2012.
Monroeville, Breaking Grass, The Bankesters, Cumberland River, Mountain Faith, David Adkins & Republic Steele, and Hammertowne, all previous monthly winners of the award as well as Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen are competing this month for your votes once again. (Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen didn’t actually compete. When the contest began in April 2012, NationalBluegrass.com simply wanted to recognize new emerging talent that they chose each month. The actual competition among 5 different bands each month began in May.)
This time, the top four bands will be invited to the B.O.R.N. award contest on March 2nd, in Greeneville TN. More information can be found here . The Band with the most votes will be considered the 2012 B.O.R.N. Award winner, and will headline the concert. There will be a cash prize for all four positions at the concert depending n the order of finish.
NationalBluegrass.com’s John Lockaby said, “…the contest has been recognized nationally, (and therefore) Bluegrass has been a winner as well because more folks each month are learning about great bluegrass bands that they previously did not know.”
In a letter sent to each of the finalists, Lockaby said, “Hopefully this will be exciting and a lot of fun. Bluegrass is made to be fun, but not often is there a lot of fun in bluegrass other than playing. Good luck and I personally will be pulling for each one of you.”
Voting in this final round is open through December 21st at Midnight. Each person is only allowed to vote once per month for the band they think is best.
The Grand Finale in April will be held at the:

Greeneville , Tennessee
