Image634908116500268470The California Bluegrass Association is about to launch a new program that will put reality to a ten-year dream.

At it’s November meeting, the CBA board voted unanimously to launch a pilot bluegrass Music Camp for Kids.  The camp will be held next June at the Fathers Day Festival in Grass Valley.

Structured for beginners age 8 through 16, the camp will be scheduled Thursday through Sunday on Father’s Day weekend and comes with a price tag of $300 which will include all camping and meal costs.

Spearheaded by CBA President Darby Brandli, the project will be the realization of a dream held by the board for more than ten years.  It addresses head-on the overriding mission of the Association – preserving the music.

According to Brandli they will begin registration January 1st with the goal of enrolling 35 kids this first year.  He also mentioned, “We have hired the wonderful Bluegrass Camps for Kids (www.bluegrasscampsforkids.com) to run this camp for us. All registration will be through the www.cbaontheweb.org website and questions can be addressed to me: darbyandbruno@comcast.net. To say we are excited would be an understatement. We have wanted to add a "real" camp to our successful Youth Programs for a number of years now.”
