Wide Open Spaces Releases FIDDLETOWN

The long-awaited new album from Massachusetts based, Wide Open Spaces has arrived. 

Wide Open Spaces follows in the tradition of groups like Claire Lynch and the Punch Brothers, who use bluegrass instrumentation to play a wide range of music.

“Fiddletown” features 14 tunes(thirteen composed by the band) with three-part harmonies, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar and bass.

Vocal duties are shared by Marie (“Mud”) Demers and Peter Anick., starting with their tale of the American Dream (circa 1849), Fiddletown, and ending with a good-ol' banjo tune conjured up on Uncle Tim's Bridge in Cape Cod.  In between, the listener gets a menu of variety -tunes from the Caribbean, some bluegrass gospel, a couple instrumentals, blues and ballads, and lots of harmony.

Members of the band include:

Marie Rocheleau-Demers, Guitar; Peter Anick (fiddler’s know him as the author of Mel Bay's Old Time Fiddling Across America, the composer of many fiddle tunes, and a regular contributor to Fiddler Magazine; Matt Carlen,Guitar;  Chris Dombrowski, Bass; and  Glenn Nelson, Banjo.
