Bluegrass Grammy Nominations for 2014

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGEThe National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences has  released the list for the 56th Annual Grammy (which will be broadcast from Los Angeles on 1/26/14).

These nominations are for recordings released during the eligibility year October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013

Category 47 - Best Bluegrass Album

(For albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental bluegrass recordings.)

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The show will broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/P. The show is moved to January to avoid competing against the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The nominations were announced on December 6, 2013. Some of them were featured during a live televised concert, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live – Countdown to Music's Biggest Night.

Carole King will be honored as MusiCares Person of the Year on January 24, two days prior to the Grammy Awards.
