Dailey & Vincent have announced that they will make their New York City debut on June 8, 2014 at the world famous Carnegie Hall.
The concert will be presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York.
Jonathan Griffith, DCINY’s Artistic Director and Principal Conductor said, “Great music crosses all borders, and DCINY is thrilled to expand its offerings with this exciting collaboration with the well-known and high caliber bluegrass band, Dailey & Vincent.”
They will be joined by a 200 person choir for a performance of The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass by Carol Barnett, a thrilling work combining the solemnity of a classical choir-based Mass with the exhilarating, distinctly American sound of banjo, mandolin, and fiddle.
Dailey & Vincent will also perform a set of their own material from across their vast repertoire.
Jamie Dailey said, “As an artist, I’ve had many dreams, and several have come true. When we received the call asking if we would play Carnegie Hall, I was overwhelmed with emotion and excitement at the prospect of performing on the same stage as so many of the world’s most prestigious artists. Unbelievable!”
Darrin Vincent adds, “Pinch me! I’ve been in awe, like a kid with a new bicycle ever since we got the invitation to play Carnegie Hall. I was honored to perform there alongside Ricky Skaggs in 2005 when The Grand Ole Opry’s 80th Anniversary Celebration was recorded at Carnegie Hall. This will be even more special, as I’ll get to perform with my duo partner Jamie Dailey and our band. Although this is different from anything we’ve ever performed, we’re very excited, and thankful for this opportunity to be among the few Bluegrass acts to ever perform at this iconic hall.”
