Del McCoury and the powers that be at SiriusXM have decided to join forces once again to provide one-of-a-kind bluegrass programming.
A short note posted on Del's BLUE SIDE OF TOWN Facebook page, informed listeners and fans of a return to the SiriusXM airwaves beginning tonight (Saturday, June 7, 2014)
Friends, we're pleased to announce that our weekly show, Hand-Picked with Del McCoury will be returning to SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction, starting tonight, June 7, at 6 pm EDT, with re-broadcasts each Sunday at 9 pm EDT, and Monday at 11 am EDT. Tune in!
Del's BLUE SIDE OF TOWN program ran on the satellite station for five years until they decided to offer the program to terrestrial and on-line broadcasters late in 2011. It was then syndicated for just a few months past the 2 year syndication anniversary. Del pulled the plug on the show in early March of this year with no reason given (see related story).
