Leave it to the HillBenders to tackle something most others wouldn't dare to do. The news is sketchy at this point and no official press release has been made, but the story is out of the bag with a social media posting this week showing the first draft for the album cover.
Along with the photo, the following text was included:
OK Folks. Here is a taste of something I have been working on for quite a while. A couple weeks ago we finished the recording of The HillBenders take on The Who's classic rock opera TOMMY at the late great Lou Whitney's The Studio in Springfield MO. This has been in the back of my mind for many years and it is now a reality. Due out in early May on Compass Records and booked by Keith Case & Associates. We will post the first quickie videos over the next few days and we will launch a special website in January. Big thanks to The HillBenders for making this happen. Here is the first version of the album cover from the wonderful Michael Robert Wrycraft.
The cover is a countrified homage to the original cover, sticking close to the original's font.
