The DETOUR Bluegrass Band is excited. Just a few years ago there weren't many who knew what a DETOUR Bluegrass Band was. Today, they're celebrating a special number one!
Their song, "Too Blue To Have the Blues" was ranked as number one by Bluegrass Today in their compilation of the songs most played on the radio in 2014.
To go from literally being obscure beyond your own territory to having the most played song on radio in what amounts to a hiccup on the band's career timeline is almost unheard of.
Mark Hodges, CEO for the band's record label, (Mountain Fever Records) said, "A lot of hard work by a lot of good people began to pay off and we were blessed beyond belief."
According to the tabulation by the chart auditors, DETOUR'S song was played more than six thousand times on reporting radio stations*. Here are the top five most played bluegrass songs of 2014.
