A brand new bluegrass festival, The Blue Ox Festival, is being planned for the Eau Claire Wisconsin area.
This inaugural festival will occur at Whispering Pines Campground at the Country Jam site west of Eau Claire in the town of Union and is being produced by Jim Bischel.
Since 1990 Bischel has headed up the annual Country Jam USA event which attracts some of country music’s biggest names to perform before tens of thousands at this same venue.
Tickets for Blue Ox went on sale Tuesday, and by 5 p.m. Bischel said sales had been brisk, with people living in nine different states having made purchases.
A limited number of $99 early bird three-day general admission and $199 three-day perk pass tickets are on sale at blueoxmusicfestival.com.
All tickets include free unreserved camping and parking.
The promoters say they are definitely a family-friendly event! Children 10 and under will be allowed in free of charge with a paid adult.
