The Oregon bluegrass community has lost one of its best. Steve Waller with the Sawtooth Mountain Boys passed away Friday, June 26th, of a heart attack.
The Oregon Bluegrass Association might not be if it had not been for Steve - he was one of the founding members.
A spokesperson for the association said , "Boy we'll miss him. Wonderful guy, great family man, great mandolin player and dedicated to the music."
The name Sawtooth Mountain Boys is synonymous with Oregon bluegrass. Fronted by founding member Steve Waller, this band has been performing traditional bluegrass for fans across the Northwest for more than 30 years.
