Due to an unforeseen illness, Dr. Ralph Stanley has been forced to cancel his upcoming appearances at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco, Calif., along with an upcoming show in Manassas, Va. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
The Grammy winning singer will return to the stage on October 18 in Austin, Texas at the Paramount Theatre, and touring will resume regularly.
Dr. Ralph Stanley is best known for his mournful Virginia Bluegrass sound. In addition to being a Grammy winner and the oldest living member of the Grand Ole Opry, Stanley was the recipient of the "Living Legend Award" in 2000 by the Library of Congress.
