Brown will take the bass position recently vacated upon Kameron Keller's move to the Darrell Webb Band.
Brown, a 19-year-old native of southwest Virginia, has performed with several groups since first taking the stage at the age of 14 with his father, banjo player Tony Brown, in the Bluegrass Kinsmen.
He and his father also helped originate the band Amber Collins & Turning Point. Brown could most recently be seen playing bass for Ralph Stanley II, a position he has held over the past two years.
"I'm very thankful for the opportunity Ralph II gave me and will always respect him as a mentor and overall great guy," Brown says. "I'm definitely looking forward to what's in store for me now, and am very excited to start playing with Junior and the guys. It's really a dream come true."
Brown's first performance with Sisk will be this Saturday, January 30th, at a benefit for David Bickley at Bill's Music Shop & Pickin' Parlor in West Columbia, SC. He will then join the full band as they resume touring in late winter, with his first show coming at the Fairview Ruritan Club in Galax, VA, on March 5th.
Sisk says that he and the other band members are eager to begin working with Brown and are looking forward to what 2016 has in store for the group!
