| This is my tribute to our men and women of service, to our brothers and sisters who have made the ultimate sacrifice. May your bravery never be forgotten. - John McEwen |
John
McEuen (the Grammy-winning national recording artist and founding
member of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, also known as the "String Wizard")
visited Puerto Rico.
While exploring the island of Vieques, he stepped into one of the old ordinance bunkers (in years past, the Navy used the island for target practice and bomb testing).
There, he discovered the most magnificent, resounding echo that he had ever heard, inspiring him to pull out his banjo and perform a patriotic medley.
