A simple statement on the band’s social media page tells the story.
“Well folks, it is with great sadness to announce that Ash Breeze will not be performing this year. Corey is graduated from college with a real job, Nellie is really tied up with college next year, and much more going on. We have had a blast travelling and touring and meeting folks from all over; we have loved most of all meeting good folks. From Missouri to Tennessee to South Carolina to Virginia to Vermount to Canada, and of course the bluegrass state of North Carolina. We hope to be doing some music locally and church during this time.”
Fayetteville, NC's Ash Breeze Band began making a big splash in the Americana/bluegrass world in 2013. Classically trained, they switched to bluegrass in 2010, then created their own sound that defies labels. In their music you can hear many influences, including folk, jazz, bluegrass, classical, blues, and Christian music blended into a distinctive sound that is strong on instrumentation with tight, beautiful family harmonies.
The single "Without Love" off their self titled CD, Ash Breeze, was chosen as a top five finalist in the Christian Gospel Category in 2014 in The Great American Songwriting Contest, and they finished as one of the top three finalists in the gospel category of The Chris Austin Song Contest at Merlefest in 2014. Ash Breeze was also selected as a Youth Showcase Band at the International Bluegrass Music Association's World of Bluegrass in Raleigh in 2014; in 2015, they were one of thirty acts invited to perform during the week as part of IBMA's official juried showcases in the Bluegrass Ramble.
