After 10 years performing as a duo and 100 performances on the legendary Grand Ole Opry, bluegrass’ own Dailey and Vincent will be come the Country Music Broadcast’s newest members.
The duo received the surprise invitation, Friday night, to join the Grand Ole Opry from member Marty Stuart, who had just performed with them on stage.
“Country music needs you. Country music loves you. And the Grand Ole Opry welcomes you,” Stuart said.
“This is one of the most special things that has ever happened to us,” a visably shocked Dailey expressed. “We’re so thankful.”
The five-time Grammy winners and three time-winners of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Entertainer of the Year award are known for their blend of bluegrass, gospel and traditional country music.
The band’s official Facebook page has the following statement:
As we sit here in Indianapolis this afternoon the two of us find ourselves overwhelmed and shocked from last nights announcement. Opry member and our friend Marty Stuart sang a song called, "Rank Stranger" with us on stage and at the end of the song he asked us on behalf of the Grand Ole Opry to become the next members of this wonderful family. We can't begin to tell you how excited and humbled we are by this invitation. One of the things that touched us even more was to have two of our parents singing and playing on stage with us, Carolyn Vincent and JB Dailey our families and close friends sitting in the audience. And what can we say about our beloved band? We love them so very much! We haven't slept a wink all night long. We've reflected on our past ten years, we've cried, we've laughed and we have prayed our Thanksgiving to the good Lord above for this tremendous blessing and dream come true.
They will be formally inducted into the Opry on March 11, 2917
