According to Norma Morris, publicist for Ralph Stanley, he's recovering and doing well at his southwestern Virginia home after a procedure to insert a pacemaker on Monday after experiencing a lengthy bout of sluggishness and lack of energy. She said the 83-year-old Bluegrass Pioneer was feeling better when she spoke to him by phone Thursday night, and he is expected to be fine - missing only one performance. His next scheduled performance is at the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 21 and 22.
