40 Years “On The Scene”

Four Decades Of Bluegrass -Seldom Scene Style- Celebrated This Weekend.

It’s been 40 years since Ben Eldridge, Tom Gray, John Duffey, Mike Auldridge and John Starling began one of the most persevering bluegrass ensembles – The Seldom Scene.

This weekend the current Scene that still includes Ben Eldridge in the sole remaining founding member position along with Dudley Connell, Ronnie Simpkins, Lou Reid and Fred Travers hosted all of the surviving founding and former members of the group in a celebration concert at the Birchmere – the same hall where the original group held long-running weekly gigs nearly four decades ago.
