Long Time Arizona Folk Festival in Trouble Due To Budget Cuts!

Image634758593036284812We heard from Bob Zucker, owner of AMAZ Radio, about some disturbing news in Arizona.  It seems that a long-running folk festival is in danger due to budget cuts.   When any music is in danger, ALL Music is in danger.

Here are Bob’s words:

To the Arizona Folk Music Community: As many of you are aware, the Prescott Folk Festival is in danger of being cancelled. The Board of the organizations that run the Sharlot Hall Museum and the Folk Festival are planning to vote on budget cuts for the remainder of the year that will doom the festival. I will be going to Prescott tomorrow to attend the Board Meeting to make suggestions on how we as a community can help the Museum continue a 34 year old tradition. I will post on my personal and AMAZ Radio Facebook pages tomorrow after the meeting is over with news of what was accomplished. In the meantime, I urge all of you to send an e-mail to the Board telling them you want the Festival to continue. Go to www.sharlot.org for information on how to reach the Board members.
