Disc Makers Has 5 Tips for Recording Engineers on Ear Fatigue

Image634956501553358790In a recent article published online, Disc Makers’ Andre Calilhanna says ear fatigue most often occurs during mix down and is usually not even noticed.  That is until possibly the next day when you listen to what you’ve done and ask yourself…”what the heck were we doing?”

Resting the ears before a recording session, taking frequent breaks and listening at lower volumes are all part of the tips to avoid ear fatigue.  But recognizing the signs before you become fatigued is probably more important.  The best way to avoid ear fatigue is to have an understanding the the warning signs and controlling what you do before, during and after a mixing session.
