Over the past decade, Rebecca Frazier has led one of Colorado’s hottest bluegrass ensembles, Hit & Run Bluegrass.

They’ve become known as one of the tightest groups performing, taking them all the way to the coveted winner’s circle.  Hit & Run is the only band to take first place at Telluride, Rockygrass, and SPBGMA Festival Band Championships.

Now, showcasing her first solo album When We Fall, out May 28th on Compass Records, Frazier opens up as a songwriter and continues to bring her masterful guitar playing to each song. Frazier achieved notoriety in the Image635046303902097418Americana/bluegrass world as the first woman ever to appear on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. But it is her vocal prowess and songwriting chops that make her one of the most exciting new artists to emerge on the national stage. Accompanying Frazier on the album of original songs and tunes are world class musicians: Barry Bales – bass (Alison Krauss), Scott Vestal – banjo (Sam Bush),Ron Block – banjo (Alison Krauss), John Frazier – mandolin (John Cowan, Jim Lauderdale) andShelby Means (Della Mae), and more.

Her collaborator and co-producer, Brent Truitt (Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton), brought his Grammy-winning integrity and attention to acoustic detail to When We FallPrescription Bluegrass said, "It's easy to enjoy a project with so many fine characteristics.  It is well produced, the supporting musicians are fantastic and the mixing is nothing short of spectacular."

The album places Frazier right in line behind the groundbreaking women that preceded her—the driving track “Ain’t Gonna Work Tomorrow” is reminiscent of the early recordings of Alison Krauss while instrumentals such as “Virginia Coastline” and “Clifftop” give a tip of the hat to guitar legends Tony Riceand the late jazz guitarist Emily Remler. Taken as a whole, Frazier is a triple threat and her multi faceted musicianship is sure to place her at the top of the crop of up and coming leading ladies in acoustic music. To receive a review copy of When We Fall please email shari@goodstuffpr.com or call 615.525.5303.
