New Man on Bass for The Spinney Brothers Team

Image635030905593270819Adam Pye has joined The Spinney Brothers as their new bassist,

replacing long-time member Darryl Hebb, who has left to pursue other opportunities. Pye hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Adam learned to play the electric bass at a young age by playing in blues bands. Eager to learn more, he traded in his electric for an acoustic upright bass and studied classical music at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.

To help pay for school, he played in country bands on the side. It wasn't until he became a regular attendee of a bluegrass jam that he started to learn bluegrass. Soon enough, he became part of the house band and his "chops" were challenged and crafted by local mandolin player, Kevin Roach.  Now with the Spinney Brothers, Adam is eager to learn and be challenged again.

Darryl Hebb left the band last month to pursue other opportunities and will be missed greatly by the band.

"Darryl has provided all of the elements necessary to help a band like ours get to the next level," stated Rick Spinney. "We will miss him as a musician, as a traveler and as a friend on the road and would like to extend our sincere best wishes to Darryl as he moves forward in his future endeavours.”
