Song of the Mountains New Season to Start in June

Image635035922118365498Song of the Mountains, the award winning public television concert series taped at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA announces their eighth season release to affiliates beginning on June 15th across America.

“These new episodes were taped during 2012 and are, as always top quality programs”, says Tim White the executive coordinator and host of the concert series.

Twenty-four  new episodes will begin airing on 190 plus public television outlets on June 15th across the United States and will feature notable entertainers and musicians including Bobby Osborne & Rocky Top Express, Rodney Dillard & the Dillard Band, Roni Stoneman, Sierra Hull & Highway 111, Janie Fricke, the Steeldrivers, Balsam Range, the VW Boys, Chuck Wagon Gang, Morehead State University Mountain Music Ambassadors, Lonesome River Band, Redhead Express and the Seldom Scene.

White says, “We are very proud of our crew, staff and volunteers in Marion, Virginia who work to provide this quality family entertainment for fans of the music from our region…and these fans are all across the country”, states White.

Song of the Mountains works closely with UNC-TV based in North Carolina who serves as the show’s “presenting station” and co-producer.

Viewers can check local listings and websites of their local public television affiliates to see when these new episodes will air in their locals.

Song of the Mountains is currently taping episodes for their ninth season which will air in 2014.
