Benefit for VW Boy - Dave Vaught

Image635059419541537750Dave Vaught has many friends in the entertainment world who are donating their time and talents to help him raise money for medical treatments he is undergoing for pre-cancer cells in his esophagus.

A fundraising concert is scheduled at the Cameo Theatre in Bristol, Virginia this Friday, June 7th at 7:30 pm.

Dave is a founding member of the VW Boys playing guitar and singing. He is also a professional magician who has brought joy the literally tens of thousands of people, especially children over the past three and a half decades. He has worked extensively in the public school system with the "Dare Program" to help fight drugs with our youth.

Dave and his wife Wendy are working through some difficult times right now. Dave has been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. Here is the description:

Barrett's Esophagus - Intestinal Metaplasia with high-grade Dysplasia,   "Cancer cells of the Esophagus".   Barrett's esophagus increases the risk of developing Esophageal Adenocarcinoma,  ( a specific type of cancer)    The first procedure was done with a knife to cut a mass out,  the next procedure will be done with a Laser to burn the remaining cancer cells.  Several of these procedures will be needed over the next 12 months.

Even though Dave has some medical insurance it will not support all of his treatments and of course his out of pocket deductibles. Also Dave has experienced loss of time at work...and he does work for himself as his sole employee.

Scheduled to appear on the Dave Vaught Benefit Concert this Friday at the Cameo Theatre are David Browning as the Mayberry Deputy, the VW Boys, Trey Hensley, Robby Spencer, Jeff “Johnny Cash” Tankersley, Mack Puckett, Phil Fox, Bob Clymer, Tony Collins, Kenneth Junkin and Lightnin Charlie.

Donations will be accepted at the door for the fundraising concert. Additional information is available at www.vwboys.com.

Also, Dave asks that you all keep him and his wife Wendy in your prayers.
