Prescription Bluegrass has been informed by booking and management company Rock House Entertainment of the passing of Doug Davidson.
Davidson was the dobro player in the band Laurel River Line, joining the group about eight months ago.Details are not known at this time. The band made the announcement last evening on their Facebook page saying:
“This post is the most difficult thing we've ever had to share. Today, we lost our friend and band member Doug Davidson. God blessed us with Doug 8 months ago, and although his time on earth with us was short, we know he was sent to us for a special reason. Doug impacted each of our lives with his passion for music and his love for God. He will never be forgotten and each special moment we had with him will forever be treasured. We will continue to carry him in our hearts while we follow our dreams knowing that we have a special angel watching over us as we go. Doug once said we were the best bluegrass band in the business, but it was him that truly tied us together. Now, he is standing on that mountain, and he is our angel singing those songs. We love you Doug. Prayers for his family and friends, he was a great man. Please pray for our band members Matt Kirby, Matt Scarbrough, Malachi Smith, and Brian Davidson.”
