Image635163984655703845One Longfellow Square, one of Portland, ME’s most engaging and dynamic Arts venues - a jewel in the crown of fine listening rooms across the U.S., is in need of some financial resources to sustain and preserve.

They are asking the music and art community to make One Longfellow Square a permanent part of the cultural fabric of Portland, Maine as a community-supported nonprofit cultural center.

Their $40,000 fundraising campaign will provide the seed funding that will sustain them this year as they launch the other facets of their development program including new community partnerships and a corporate sponsorship program.

Not a crowded bar or a formal concert hall,  OLS is a 200-seat neighborhood listening room in the culturally rich city of Portland, Maine. It is an intimate space where people of all walks of life come together and become part of the performance.

Joe Walsh, former mandolin player with The Gibson Brothers Band says “I can’t think of very many towns that have any place like this (One Longfellow Square) all across the country in the sense of  a music venue that puts music ahead of profits”

In the first five days of the drive, nearly one quarter of the goal has been reached.  Unlike other funding sites, this campaign will receive all donations even if it doesn’t reach it’s ultimate goal.   The drive ends on November 6th at 11:59pm PT.

A donation as small as $10 can make a huge difference but a donation of $10,000 will get you a lifetime membership to the venue which includes a pair of tickets to any show for life in addition to other perks.

One Longfellow Square is a non-profit entity.
