[REPOSTED FROM CanadianBluegrass.com] Prescription Bluegrass has learned of the passing (30 October) of Ken Palmer, 65 – London Music Hall of Famer and Co-Founder of the Infamous Dixie Flyers Bluegrass Band, which toured Canada and the U.S. from its London base.
Palmer was both a mandolin musician and vocalist, having retired from the Dixie Flyers in 2010. This past spring the Dixie Flyers were inducted into the London Music Hall of Fame.
Palmer had recent heart surgery.
Funeral: Visitation will be at the Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, Ontario on Sunday 3 November 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Palmer’s funeral service is Monday 4 November 2013 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
