Coming up in January & February 2014, Yonder Mountain String Band heads out on tour in support of their brand new EP but they'll be minus one in the person of Jeff Austin.
Austin who plays mandolin and handles some of the vocals in the band will be staying home for the first 17 shows of the new year to be with his new baby girl. Austin and his wife expect arrival of the newest addition to their family in late January.
Replacing Austin for most of the shows will be Ronnie McCoury and Jason Carter of the Travelin' McCourys who will also be on the bill with YMSB. Except in Knoxville, Indianapolis, Columbus, and Madison; special guests for these markets will be announced soon
In a personal note on the band's website, Austin said, "After much thought and a final decision by all parties involved, I wanted you all to know that I won’t be able to be a part of that tour. Nothing in this world is bigger in life than family…and in this case, not even the music I love so dearly."
