Cincinnati Ladies Release Second Bluegrass Album!

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE  -  MA CROW AND THE LADY SLIPPERSThe All-Female bluegrass group, Ma Crow and the Lady Slippers from Cincinnat, Ohio have announce the release of their second album, “Memory of a Mountain.”

This CD was mixed and mastered by Ron Stewart of the Boxcars.

Four  original tunes grace the album and include: I Want to Go to Ireland – (Dave Gilligan) Memory of a Mountain  (Margaret Drees; Margie Mason Music, ASCAP), Daughter of the Mountain  (Margaret Drees; Margie Mason Music, ASCAP) and Liberty Hill – (Margaret Drees; Margie Mason Music, ASCAP)

In early 2011, the four members of this band played together for the first time at a party at a friend’s house. Although they had known each other and played music in several different band configurations throughout the years, this was their first time playing together as a group and something just clicked.

The group is a 3-time nominee for the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. Ma Crow is a legendary acoustic artist in the Cincinnati area, a CAMMY (a Cincinnati Grammy) award winner, and a multi-nominee for the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. On March 25, 2013, the band was featured on the nationally syndicated Woodsong’s Old Time Radio Hourat the Lyric Theatre in Lexington, KY.

Ma Crow and the Lady Slippers include:

  • Ma Crow (vocals and guitar)
  • Trina Emig (banjo and mandolin)
  • Margie Drees (vocals and fiddle)
  • Vicki Abbott (vocals and bass)

Each member brings decades of professional experience, creating a unique blend of superb instrumentation and vocals.
