Professional Members of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) are about to start the annual process of selecting the new reigning King, albeit ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR, for 2014 along with the bluegrass court of royalty that will accompany the King in spirit if not actual presence.
The voting process begins with open nominations of up to five (5) in each category provided the proposed nominees have a qualifying project released in the award year.
Nominations are done online with private and secure login accounts and passwords for voting members. IBMA provides an Eligibility List for reference but disclaims that it is 100% of all of the possible projects, persons, or groups qualified and members are not restricted to just the entries on the list.
IBMA encourages all members with voting privileges to participate in the process.
If you're not already a member of IBMA, it's easy to join, Professional Individual memberships are just $75 per year and the term "Professional" is not connected to any amount of income derived or not from bluegrass music.
