Town Fire Forces Evacuation of Bluegrass Festival !

PRESCRIPTION BLUEGRASS IMAGE - KIM ROBINSYou've heard it said: "If it isn't one thing, it's another."   Well in this case it was several things.   We heard from Kim Robins this morning of some strange  and almost unbelievable happenings at the Sheridan Bluegrass Fever Festival in Indiana.   Kim's Report follows:

"Audie Blaylock,  Karl Shiflett and I all got our shows cancelled today (Saturday, July 12, 2014) at a festival cause the town burned down.

"The festival is in Sheridan, IN. It's been going on about 6 years and always brings in about 3000 people. This year was really weird. My car was broke into overnight and all my belongings stolen, then the rain delayed things and Audie Blaylock was caught in a wreck on the interstate and couldn't get there in time for his first set. No other band could take his place because they had members who weren't there yet. Then about 5:30 or 6 pm an explosion went off and a fire started in an old building on main street. It was 3 blocks from the festival. They continued to play music but the entire festival grounds was overcome with smoke and no one could breathe or see. Then we lost power and the police came to escort us out of there. We all stayed to watch the fire. It was a 3 alarm fire I believe and destroyed an old building and 2 homes in the downtown district."

We didn't get to play today because the town caught fire. Didn't stop us from jamming though.
