Echo Mountain Entertainment announced this 
week, they will now be handling all booking and promotional materials for James King and the James King Band.
After being hospitalized early this year, James is back on the road, playing three to four shows a week, in two to four states a week. The famous "Bluegrass Storyteller" is telling his stories in his music again, to both old and new fans across the Country.
James King. "The Bluegrass Storyteller", has been IBMA 1997 Artist of the Year, multiple years as SPBGMA Contemporary Male Vocalist and Grammy nominee and September 13, 2014, was honored with the prestige induction into the Virginia Country Music HALL of FAME.
James King earned the recognition as the “Bluegrass Storyteller” through his talent of telling stories through his many Bluegrass songs.
James was born in Martinsville, Virginia and grew up in Cana (Carroll County), Virginia. Bluegrass music was a part of the heritage of his childhood. His father, Jim, and his uncle, Joe Edd, were both musicians who influenced James. He recalls his early interest in Bluegrass music came through gospel songs performed by The Stanley Brothers (Carter and Ralph). James noticed that he was developing the ability to perform vocally, similar to Carter Stanley.
In his early years, James King became established as a Bluegrass singer in a band with T.J. and Bobby Lundy, who are sons of Ted Lundy, James’ mentor. James recorded music with Ralph Stanley in the 1980s, and in the 1990s Dudley Connell helped him with an introduction to Ken Irwin at Rounder Records.
In 1997 the James King Band was named “Emerging Artist of the Year” through the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). James has continued touring and making records ever since. His album, “Three Chords and the Truth” received a nomination at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards Best Bluegrass Album.
