In their message to members, the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) says they expect to have a new Executive Director possibly as soon as mid-April.
"...we anticipate being able to announce a new Executive Director within the next 4-6 weeks."
The IBMA Executive Committee is nearing completion of its interviews with a short list of candidates for the Executive Director position.
The top position in the world's most recognized bluegrass organization became available last October when Nancy Cardwell announced her resignation to become effective at the end of the year.
Cardwell's resignation lit the match to a firestorm of board member resignations where a total of five eventually left the organization's leadership.

In other news, the IBMA Board says February’s membership numbers are in, and they continue to show general improvement over last year’s corresponding time period. In February, 2015 the organization had a total of 134 new and renewing members, against a total of 86 in February, 2014. Numbers were up for new and renewing grass roots memberships, as well as for renewing professional memberships, with new professional memberships slightly below 2014’s level. The biggest improvement over last year came in the category of renewing professional memberships.
Also a reminder that the end of the eligibility period for this year’s awards cycle is rapidly approaching.
For a recording to be considered for this year’s IBMA awards, it must have been released or, in some cases, have shown significant chart action between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015.
