David and Ivy Sheppard of the South Carolina Broadcasters Band are excited to announce that Andy Edmonds has joined the trio.
A resident of Pilot Mountain, N.C., Andy comes from a family of guitar and banjo players, and gospel singers. He met the late, great Benton Flippen when he was a young man, and played guitar and banjo for over a decade with Benton Flippen & The Smokey Valley Boys.
In his time playing with Flippen, Andy also learned a great deal about playing the fiddle, and now counts it as his primary instrument, winning 
numerous prizes at area fiddle contests.
“Music is an integral part of our lives, and we are thrilled to welcome Andy, who also dedicates his life to the rich music of the Blue Ridge region,” Ivy said. “We look forward to playing as much music with him as we possibly can!”
David Sheppard, when not traveling across America playing and singing the music he loves, restores and repairs vintage musical instruments. He is a much sought-after luthier with nearly 40 years of experience, and has recently joined Lowe Vintage Instrument Company of Burlington, N.C., as its in-house luthier.
Fiddler, banjo player, and singer Ivy Sheppard works at legendary radio station WPAQ in Mount Airy, N.C., hosting the popular show, "The Surry Spotlight," featuring bluegrass and old-time music from in and around Surry County (NC) every Tuesday at 2 p.m. The show is largely comprised of rare and obscure field recordings and one-off press distribution albums and non-commercial releases.
