Kindred Records has released the CD "The Last Dirt Road" by Max Meadows, VA artist Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder.
Adam is the son of Mike McPeak, of legendary McPeak Brothers.
Adam already has a history of playing in a bluegrass youth group on The Crooked Trail in Virgina and competing at SPBGMA. Along with his father Mike McPeak on guitar, many of these young musicians Nikki Wright on fiddle, Marlon Allisandra on fiddle, David Chrisley on bass, and Davids' father Steve Chrisley on banjo now form the band Mountain Thunder. Adams mother Debbie Frye handles the booking and media at FryPan Music.
It always thrills me to see young musicians step out and go for it, and Adam's debut project "The Last Dirt Road" is an excellent performance with Larry McPeak material included as stepping stones to the future. Adam is keeping the McPeak name alive and we expect this will be the first of many hit releases in the McPeak tradition. A mix of traditional heart felt ballads, fast driving bluegrass, gospel, and of course the McPeak sound, this release is a breath of fresh air.
Adam McPeak started his own band at the age of 13. Adam knew he had some big shoes to fill, being the only McPeak since his dad's generation, to play bluegrass music. Adam played on stage with the McPeak Brothers and at local competitions for a short while before starting his band. Playing fiddlers conventions and other events it wasn't long before the band was competing in Nashville at the SPBGMA national band championship in which they placed 9th and again placing 10th..
The band was quickly gaining attention and getting bookings at prestigious events like Song of The Mountains, a PBS affiliate hosted by Tim White. They also were invited to open for some bluegrass greats such as James King band, Jr Sisk and Ramblers Choice, The Boxcars, Russell Moore & Third Tyme Out...
Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder have a permanent video at the Blue Ridge Music Center that was filmed by Two Rivers Productions, and is also permanently displayed at The Heartwood, located in Abingdon Virginia. Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder are also a representative band for The Crooked Road Music Concerts along the East Coast.
"The Last Dirt Road" was recorded and engineered at Eastwood Studios in Cana, Va by Wes Easter, and produced by Johnny Williams.
Kindred is pleased to add Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder to its artist catalog and more information is available at www.kindredrecords.com/amcpeak.html, Adam's website at www.adammcpeak.com or Kindred Record's Facebook MusicStore
