Emerging from East Tennessee State University’s renowned Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Studies program, Troy Boone, is joined by several of his friends and fellow musicians within the university to record his first album, FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
The ten tracks are an inviting mixture of originals, classic bluegrass favorites, and a few newer tracks.
Boone wrote half of the album’s songs, including Rock Creek, Dying to Get You Off My Mind, and House of Brick and Stone.
A native of Erwin, Tennessee, Boone’s love of bluegrass music began at an early age.
His early interest in the banjo was soon replaced by a Martin guitar he received as a Christmas present, and he began studying under well-known musician and instructor David Yates. As he grew older, Boone also honed his skills on the mandolin.
Boone’s passion for bluegrass music only continued to grow after he entered ETSU in 2013.
House of Brick and Stone is currently being released to radio as the first single, and the entire album is now available at all online music retailers.
