Australia's Americana favorites, THE STETSON FAMILY, will release their newest project on August 7.
TRUE NORTH will be available in stores across Australia and New Zealand (distributed by MGM), online through the band's website and via e-tailers iTunes and Amazon.

With TRUE NORTH, The Stetson Family brings down-home musical magic to life in 12 tracks.
The quintet, which features Nadine Budge (lead vocals, guitar, dobro); John Bartholomeusz (vocals, guitar); Andrew Carswell (mandolin, background vocals); Luke Richardson (double bass/background vocals); and Colin Swan (banjo, background vocals), is revered for their impressive songwriting and lively performances.
Resonating throughout the disc are the stories at the heart of the songs, 10 of which are originals.
Stand out cuts include "Run Daddy Run," which warns of a gun-toting woman, while "Travelin' Man" tells the true story of a man who lives on the banks of the Murray River. "Every Second Beat Of My Heart" is an old man's lament of lost love and the emptiness of borrowed time. "Lover Where You Going Now"describes the pull of the road over family life, while "Let It Ride" is about knowing when to let go. "Top Of The Mountain" picks up the tempo with an alternate story of leaving - and where your travels can take you.
Rounding out the project is a riveting version of Bob Dylan's Country masterpiece, "Billy" (from the movie Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid), and the driving Stanley Brothers' Bluegrass classic, "How Mountain Girls Can Love."
TRUE NORTH also features several special guests, noted Australian musicians: Gleny Rae (fiddle, tracks 2, 3, 5, 9), Liz Stringer (backing vocals, tracks 2, 11), Suzannah Espie (backing vocals, track 3), Bree Hartley (percussion, tracks 4, 6), and Nick O'Mara (resonator guitar, track 3, and steel guitar, track 4).
The release follows a two-year hiatus from touring and recording due to health reasons. For The Stetson Family, this is more than just an album, it's a document of friendship and kinship. Notes Nadine, "Although we're not related by blood, we're a family in the truest sense of the word."
The album was produced by Nadine Budge and Colin Swan, engineered by Colin Wynne at Thirty Mill Studios (Brunswick) and Colin Swan at The Stetson Family Ranch (Coburg).
The band performs regularly on the Australian national touring circuit, playing major festivals and cultural events including: The National Folk Festival, Broadbeach Country Music Festival, Jamgrass, Mullumbimby Music Festival, Gympie Muster, Moomba Melbourne, Apollo Bay Music Festival, The Brisbane Festival and many more.
